I can’t sue McDonalds!

You guys, I have something SHOCKING to share with you (insert sarcasm font).  I know why I continue to be chubby.  Brace yourselves.  It’s because I have been eating TOO much and NOT exercising enough.  I know! I was shocked, too.

It turns out that it wasn’t:

My thyroid.

Fast food portion sizes.

Restaurant portion sizes in general.

The Polar Vortex.

President Obama

The GOP.

Gun Control.

Or anything else.

It WAS because I decided I like eating marshmallows from the bag more that I like running, going to the gym, doing pushups, or NOT eating marshmallows.

It’s all about self-control.  Who’d a thunk it? Shaking my head.

A YUMMY choking hazard!
A YUMMY choking hazard!

  1. Nooooooooo!!! Say it isn’t so!! I cannot tell you how many times I have crossed my fingers and wished for that blood test to come back with a “It’s your thyroid after all!” But….nope. It never has, darn it.
I guess I should put down this bag of M&Ms and consider getting on my elliptical machine…and I will. As soon as this polar vortex passes. –Lisa

      1. I am under so much stress with a chronically ill kid for the past three years that I’m stress eating anything and everything in site. One more bite and I’m going to look like that girl in Willy Wonka who blew up like a giant blueberry! help meeeeeeeeeeee!

  2. Stress will do it. I gained back most of the weight I lost when we moved here last year. Moving a teen, as you probably know, is NOT fun.

I’m sorry to hear about the kid.

  3. I had someone I used to work with tell me this: I know why I’m overweight. It’s because I was so beautiful when I was thin that I didn’t know if people loved me for for me..or because I was so pretty. (She was serious). I said that I was overweight because I ate too much and didn’t exercise. It pissed her off.

  4. Lol yes usually our diets and our lack of self control is what creates a lot of our health issues in the long run – it’s something ill work on this year. Marshmellows are freakin’ yummy though – they’re nostalgic as they are sweet. Happy Thursday Lisa! -Iva
